Happy September! We’re well into the second half of 2021 and coming up on fall soon. In a little over a month from now, it will be Public Power Week and Public Natural Gas Week. Now is the time to start planning if you haven’t already.
Public power utilities across the United States celebrate Public Power Week the first full week of October every year to help customers and stakeholders understand how they can better engage with their community-owned utility and benefit from all its offerings. This year, Public Power Week is Oct. 3 – 9. The American Public Power Association (APPA) makes many resources available to get the word out about all that public power professionals and utilities do for their communities.
Resources include:
- Logos
- Videos
- Infographics
- Coloring sheets
- Sample social media messages
- Sample news releases
- Sample proclamations
- Sample guest columns
- Sample employee recognition certificates
Public Natural Gas Week (PNGW) is a nationwide observance that offers the perfect opportunity for public natural gas utilities to showcase their public natural gas systems and generate enthusiasm about the benefits of public natural gas. This year, PNGW will be celebrated Oct. 3 – 9. Just like the APPA, the American Public Gas Association (APGA) has several resources that natural gas utilities can use, including:
- Logos
- Videos
- Sample social media messages
- Sample news releases
- Sample proclamations
- Sample op-ed pieces
- Celebration suggestions
