Rate Surveys

IAMU compiles an annual rate survey of Iowa's municipal, REC and IOU electric and gas utilities using information from the EIA 861 survey and the IUB MG 1 reports.  The survey looks at the revenue per kWh sold and the revenue per therm sold by the utilities and can be used by the utilities to compare the average rates between utilities.

Rate Studies

IAMU maintains a list of consultants who work with municipal utilities to update electric and gas rates.  IAMU also provides simple rate studies for utilities using an Excel spreadsheet model built on current and planned operating and capital costs, and current billed revenues.
