Electric Members: EIA-861 Reports Due Soon

This is a reminder that the EIA-861 Report is due to the EIA on April 28th. Should your utility need to complete the traditional form (not the short form), IAMU is assisting members with completing the Schedule 6 A & B of the EIA-861 report.  Schedule 6 refers to your utility’s energy efficiency efforts and load management programs.  Should you wish for IAMU to complete Schedule 6 for your utility, please complete the data request form and return no later than April 3rd to eefiling@iamu.orgShould you have any questions, please feel free to contact Krista Allen at 402.441.1684.

NOTE:  IAMU will be completing the Schedule 6 A & B of the EIA-861 only; your utility must complete the rest of the EIA-861.

If your utility has a power contract with WAPA and would like IAMU to complete your MIR, please contact Krista to arrange for completion.

Krista Allen Joins Consortia Consulting

Consortia Consulting is pleased to announce Krista Allen has joined its experienced consulting staff to focus on serving the needs of Iowa municipalities. Prior to joining Consortia, Krista served as the Director of Finance and Customer Service for Harlan Municipal Utilities in Harlan, Iowa.  At Harlan, Krista was responsible for overseeing various financial and regulatory aspects of their electric, gas, water, and communications utilities. Her background includes rate analyses, calculating rate increases, financial analyses, budget preparation and presentation, and various regulatory  reporting requirements.  Krista brings her energy, experience, and passion for assisting municipals to Consortia to provide a variety of financial consulting and regulatory services to help ensure the continued success of Iowa’s municipals.

Krista is a member of the American Public Power Association Legislative and Regulatory Committee, is currently serving an appointment on the Iowa Consumer Advocate Panel, and represented Harlan on the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities’ Board of Directors.  She recently relocated to Waverly, Iowa, and will be working from that location for Consortia.

Consortia Consulting was established in 1991 and has been providing consulting services in Iowa since that time.  With a staff of more than twenty industry professionals, Consortia is dedicated to providing  excellent financial and regulatory consulting services to municipalities that allow them to focus on what they do best, providing excellent service to their customers.

Harlan's Allen Appointed to AG Panel

Krista Allen, HMU Director of Finance and Customer Service and IAMU Board of Directors member, has been appointed by Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller to serve as a representative of Municipal Utilities to the nine member Iowa Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP). The CAP consults with Consumer Advocate Mark Schuling of the Attorney General’s office on matters of public utility regulation and oversight. The Attorney General’s office appoints five representatives and the Governor’s office appoints four to the panel.

Allen stated, “I am honored to be appointed to the Consumer Advisory Panel. I take the responsibility seriously and look forward to being an advocate of consumers and municipal electric, gas and water utilities.”

The panel meets four times a year. Allen’s term began July first and runs until June 30, 2019.
