"Electric Members, we have changed our hours for our basic workshop to better serve you. We understand that three days seemed like a big ask for some of our members. We have now gone to a two day “trial run” workshop. The workshop will start on Wednesday at 10 am and end at 2:30 pm on Thursday. We were able to fit the same amount of training into two almost full days. This will allow most to travel the morning of and also travel back home the next day. Our hope is that this will ease some of the burden of sending your valuable workforce to get excellent training."

This workshop offers valuable information and hands-on training for utility electric personnel. Utility workers, instructors, and product presenters will once again join together to bring you the latest industry information.

The IAMU Electric Training Team and the Electric Safety and Training Committee are excited to announce a change to our workshops.  In recent years we have noticed we were getting many attendees with less than 5 years of experience and many who have over 15 years of experience.  This has created a challenge in keeping everyone engaged with the varying differences in knowledge. 

The IAMU Electric Training Team and the Electric Safety and Training Committee have a solution! 

We now have our Basic Electric Distribution Workshop which will be held in May and replaces the Overhead Electric Workshop.  Our Advanced Electric Distribution Workshop in September will replace the Underground Electric Workshop.  Please read over the topics and see which of your workers should attend the Basic and who should attend the Advanced Workshop.  Some example topics of the Advanced Workshop are: 3 phase transformer connections, hot work, troubleshooting, switching procedures, storm restoration, etc.
