We are excited to announce that our annual golf outing will now be a fundraiser for the IAMU Scholarship Program (details will be announced in the coming months), and will award scholarships beginning in 2021.
Registration is open for the IAMU Golfing Fore Scholars fundraiser. This event, formerly Golfing Fore Safety, will be held at Briggs Woods Golf Course on Monday, September 21, 2020. Registration information and sponsorship opportunities can be found

Steve Bernard may chuckle when he reveals what is the biggest reason employees leave Cedar Falls Utilities, but he’s not joking. “We
have so many long-term employees with decades of experience, I often
say the most common reason staff leaves is retirement,” says the general

IAMU welcomes new staff member Joey Cuellar as one of our new Regional Safety Coordinators for the newly formed Safety Group East Iowa. Joey started on September 1st and has an extensive background in Occupational Safety & Health. Joey holds a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Safety & Health and enjoys being part of a team that helps keep people safe at work. “The best part of my job is working with people from all walks of life to create a safe working environment for the benefit of all employees.” Joey is originally from Iowa and recently moved back after spending the last few years in San Antonio, Texas.

IAMU will be taking the 26th Annual Water/Wastewater Operator’s Training Workshop online this year. Mark your calendar for November 10 (water treatment track), 17 (water distribution track), and 24 (wastewater track), 2020. Each day will be good for 5 CEU hours and operators will be able to sign up for 1 or all 3 days. Registration will open in the next 2 weeks and the full agenda for each day will be available.
