IAMU will again hold a Legislative Reception in conjunction with the Energy Conference.
This year’s reception will be held on March 1, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p. at Ken’s Speakeasy.
Ken’s is downstairs of the Iowa Taproom located at 215 E. Third Street, Des Moines, Iowa.

We look forward to seeing as many members as possible at this event. This is your opportunity to meet with legislators and let them know your views on important matters concerning municipal utilities.

Join other municipal energy professionals for the annual IAMU Energy Conference on March 1-3, 2023, at the Hilton Garden Inn, West Des Moines. Learn more about the latest happenings in the industry and network with others during this much anticipated yearly event. The annual Legislative Reception is also planned for this time, taking place on March 1 at Ken’s – a not so speakeasy, in Des Moines’ East Village.

This year’s keynote speaker, who will kick off the Energy Conference’s first full day (March 2) – is Kent Stock. Teacher, coach, principal, husband, banker, parent, and powerful speaker, Kent is also the man who coached the 1991 Norway High School baseball team during their now-famous final season. As depicted in the 2007 film The Final Season, the nationally recognized Norway baseball team came together under inauspicious circumstances. They defied the odds under Kent’s leadership to win Norway’s 20^th state title. To learn more about Kent, check out this video.

IAMU is organizing a Municipal Utility Day on the Hill (state capitol) for Tuesday, March 17 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The IAMU Legislative Reception will follow from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Iowa Hall of Pride in the Iowa Events Center (330 Park St, Des Moines, IA 50309).
