IMFOA has approved 6.00 flex contact hours for Day 1; 6.25 hours for Day 2.

This two-day workshop, to be held July 31 and Aug. 1 at the IAMU office, is designed for city and utility clerks, as well as other utility and municipal administrative staff to better understand municipal law requirements, particularly those related to water and electric utilities, as well as dealing with customers. Individuals may attend one or both days.

IUB 2016 Fall Customer Service Meetings Scheduled

The Iowa Utilities Board has scheduled nineteen fall Customer Service meetings to be held throughout Iowa during August and September 2016. 

Discussion will include the Iowa winter home heating energy disconnection moratorium, a review of Board rules regarding disconnection of utility service, and other energy-related customer issues of importance to utility customer service personnel and community action agency caseworkers. 

Attendance is limited to utility personnel, community action agency personnel, and persons from other community-based help organizations that assist low-income clients with winter heating bills.

IUB 2015 Customer Service Fall Meetings - Registration Now Open!

Registration for the IUB's Customer Service Fall Meetings is now open!

For those IAMU members who want to participate, a registration form is available online.  Registration for each location will close two business days prior to the meeting date.  Each registered attendee will receive a packet of information.

The agenda includes a discussion of the yet to be released Board decision on NOI-2014-0004, the statute of limitations on debt collection and board jurisdiction over municipal level payment plans, the Winter Moratorium, Regular Disconnection Process/Landlord-Tenant, Low Income Programs update, including LIHEAP and  Weatherization, Specialty Rules and Rulings, including Medical Excuses and the 20 Degree Rules and Utility/Customer Complaint Issues.
