2019 IAMU Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) Workshops

Do you need help completing the Consumer Confidence Report? If so, this workshop is for you! The goal of the workshop is for each participant to leave with an understanding, or refresher, of what the CCR is and why it needs to be completed.

 Important! Please bring the following items to the workshop:
  • IDNR Draft CCR mailed in March 2019
  • If you operate a surface water system: You must bring your turbidity information. Highest single measurement and the lowest monthly percentage of samples meeting turbidity limits from 2018 calendar year
  • If you add Fluoride, bring the highest and lowest lab results from 2018
  • Jump (flash) drive for ease of saving

Water Members: Note DNR Testing Location Change for Operator Certification Online Exams

The Drinking Water Treatment, Distribution and Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification Online Exams will no longer be given at the Wallace Building on the Capitol Complex in Des Moines, but will be offered at the DMACC Southridge Testing Center (1111 East Army Post Rd, Des Moines IA 50315), starting March 11, 2019.

Exams will still be offered, by appointment, at Field Office 1 in Manchester, Field Office 2 in Mason City, Field Office 3 in Spencer, Field Office 4 in Atlantic and Field Office 6 in Washington. However, if you wish to take your exam at the DMACC Southridge Testing Center, after receiving your exam eligibility letter, call Elizabeth at (515) 725-0463, and she will set you up with DMACC.

The advantages of using the DMACC Southridge Testing Center include:

  • Extended hours of availability
  • Convenient location availability and parking

Plus, once you indicate you want to use the DMACC testing center, you will be given a four-week window in which you can go take an exam. There will be no specific appointment date or time; you can just walk in with your eligibility letter and valid ID and take the exam. Although there are multiple workstations available, DMACC asks that you call the day before you are thinking about testing to assure an available testing station. DMACC Southridge Testing Center: 1111 East Army Post Rd, Des Moines IA 

Southridge Testing Lab Hours are as follows:

  • Monday – 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday – 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Wednesday – 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday – 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday – 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday – 8 a.m. to Noon (All tests must be started by 9:30 a.m.)

Water and Wastewater Operators, Don’t Forget: You Have Until March 31 to Earn CEUs to Renew Your License

Consider attending the Advanced Water Workshops

Certified water and wastewater operator certificates expire every two years on June 30th of odd-numbered years. Applications for renewal are mailed to operators 60 days before the expiration date.

To be eligible for renewal, operators must have earned the required number of Continuing Education training Units (CEUs) during two-year periods ending March 31 of odd-numbered years.

If you still need CEUs, check out the Advanced Water Workshops scheduled for March 6 and 7. Each workshop is worth 0.5 CEUs. Come for one or both days.

Advanced Water Workshops: Register Now

The Advanced Water Workshops are just a few weeks away. Be sure to register. Come for one or both days. The workshops will be held March 6 – 7 at the IAMU Office and Training Complex in Ankeny.

  • Day 1 (March 6): Advanced Water Treatment
  •  Day 2 (March 7): Advanced Water Distribution

Each workshop qualifies for 0.5 CEUs.
