The 30-Hour course establishes a foundation for the utility / company safety program. It will help locate and apply OSHA safety & health standards, policies, and procedures; utilize OSHA standards & regulations to implement an on-going safety & health program; identify common violations of OSHA standards and propose abatement actions; describe appropriate abatement procedures for selected safety hazards and conduct internal training on OSHA regulations. Hands-on activities will be included.
Who should attend?
This advanced course is recommended for supervisors and managers. If you previously attended a 10-Hour course you may be particularly interested in attending because of the depth & application of the subject matter.

If you haven’t registered for this year’s Iowa Governor’s Safety & Health Conference yet, the deadline has been extended to Friday, Oct. 26.
Check out the featuring sessions on many urgent safety topics, including the recently added session “When Disaster Strikes! The Vermeer Tornado and Lessons Learned.” In this presentation, Steve Flann, Vermeer’s senior director of environmental, health, safety and security, will discuss how robust planning protected the lives of Vermeer employees and allowed the company to get back up and running a short time after the July 19, 2018 tornado. This session will be provided on both Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2.
