Assessment of Potential

As a result of legislation IAMU coordinated a joint municipal utility assessment of energy efficiency potential.  The Energy Center of Wisconsin performed the study, which estimated the achievable potential for energy efficiency through utility programs for the years 2012 and 2018.  Links to the report documents are below.

Energy Information Agency (EIA) 861 Report

The EIA requires electric utilities to report their demand side management activities, which includes both energy efficiency and load management activities, in the annual EIA 861 report.  The report is typically due April 1.  IAMU assists members with the DSM portion of the report.

WAPA Minimum Investment Report (MIR)

WAPA customers in Iowa may submit their IUB biennial energy efficiency report to WAPA as a Minimum Investment Report (MIR) in lieu of submitting an Integrated resource plan (IRP).  Many municipal utilities' joint action agencies or power suppliers complete the IRP or MIR requirement for them, but if your utility is responsible for filing the MIR, IAMU can compile and submit it on you behalf.

For more information on WAPA's MIR reporting requirements, visit their website here.
