Jester Insurance Services: IAMU Safety Group Insurance Program Spring Newsletter

Posted By IAMU, Monday, May 1, 2017

Provided by Jester Insurance Services

IAMU Safety Group Insurance Program Members,

Jester Insurance Services has been managing the IAMU Safety Group Insurance Program for nearly 40 years. We are dedicated to identifying ways to provide additional value to all program members. The spring newsletter focuses on loss of income and extra expense coverage. What loss of income and extra expense exposures exist for municipalities/utilities and what solutions are available?

We are introducing a new “Spotlight” section in the newsletter that will highlight a different IAMU program member and local insurance agency each time. We are proud to have the City of Ogden/Ogden Municipal Utilities and Boehm Insurance Agency spotlighted in this spring edition. We hope that you continue to find these newsletters beneficial and are able to utilize them as a resource when evaluating your own exposures. Please feel free to contact Jester Insurance Services or your local agent with any questions.

Thank you for your continued support of the IAMU Safety Group Insurance Program!

Melody Taninies Celebrates 25 Years With IAMU

Posted By IAMU, Tuesday, April 25, 2017

In today’s world, the median tenure for U.S. workers at a company is 4.2 years. That statistic alone makes Melody Taninies’ time at IAMU impressive. Melody has been delighting members with her smile and her service for 25 years.

Melody was drawn to the IAMU because she wanted to work for a service organization. As she recently explained, “I like to help people and IAMU just felt right. It was a good fit from the very first day.”

Melody started at IAMU in April 1992 as a receptionist, and after two years settled into her role as the administrative assistant for the Job Training and Safety (JT&S) area, which recently changed to Safety Services. Melody is now transitioning into a new administrative role at IAMU.

“Being part of how IAMU has grown into what it is today has been quite a ride!” Melody said.  “It doesn’t seem at all like twenty-five years.”

Associate Members: Don't Miss These Marketing Opportunities to Reach Municipal Utilities

Posted By IAMU, Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Looking for ways to reach your municipal utility customers? The Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU) has a few marketing opportunities that we want to let you know about.

  • Our Buyer’s Guide is a bi-annual electronic booklet that allows you to highlight your company and its products and services. You have an entire page to do with what you wish -- photos, contact information, sales copy, whatever you can dream up (within reason).
  • Our 70th Anniversary Commemorative Magazine advertising allows you to have extended ad exposure compared to typical magazine advertising. Readers are much more likely to keep this special publication than a reoccurring magazine. This is a limited first-come, first-served opportunity.
  • Our Golfin’ Fore Safety event is your chance to make our safety fundraiser even more fun for participants by sponsoring various aspects of the day. Bonus: You can come golf, too, as part of most sponsorship levels.
  • Our Equipment Demo & Exhibit Day is a great way to show potential customers what you can provide by demo-ing or exhibiting your products or services in a real-life setting. You’ll also be able to invite your other clients (beyond the IAMU members whom we will invite) to come out and check out what you do. This is a free event to participate, but we need you to sign up. We’re also looking for event sponsors.

If you have any questions about these opportunities, please feel free to contact Jen Cronin at 515-289-1999 or jcronin@iamu.org.
